Are you one of those skeptics, quick to balk at something but then you secretly sneak peeks when no one is looking? I am.

When I went to the New York International Gift Fair (now known as NY NOW), I had NOT planned on looking at it.  Goodness, it is almost $30!  For a cellphone accessory?  That's crazy, I thought.  And when I passed by their booth, I kept walking BUT then I made a U-turn. It doesn't hurt to try, right?

After assuring me that they could remove it right away, the FlyGrip folks put it on my iPad and voila!--- I was now able to take photos and videos, comfortably and more important- CONFIDENTLY with one hand.

Doing The Best You Can Do

The FlyGrip talks a lot about this accessory allowing one to multi-task but I stink at multi-tasking.  I don't think I'm even all that good at uni-tasking.  But here is what I noticed when I have the FlyGrip- whatever I'm doing with my phone or iPad, I am able to FOCUS ON MY TASK MORE because I am not focused on holding my phone, doing finger acrobatics to press buttons, or keeping my phone safe.

If you are at all skeptical, take a look at my video.  You will have no doubt that this thing is way more than just "useful" after you watch.

But Jenn you got yours for free and I have to pay....

To me, I think the purpose of a good review is to help you make a decision confidently.  It is not to get you to buy something.  So if you don't think you need it, I can understand that.  The last thing I want is for you to buy something that I reviewed and be dissatisfied.  Honestly, when I saw this, I was like, you gotta be kidding me!  Why don't you make a bed for my phone too? But now I'm singing a different song- and very loudly at that.   To help explain my view, I've divided the positive attributes in accordance with how I personally use my phone and iPad mini.

FlyGrip, where were you when I was pushing strollers? ARGH!

Useful Plusses:
  • It puts less strain on your fingers.  Gives thumbs more room to maneuver.
  • More effective prevention of dropping
  • Decreases potential for mistakes when using phone
  • Increases potential for effective and faster creation of photos, videos, searching for things on a phone.
  • Committ more focus to intended primary activity (devote more brain power to using your phone instead of holding your phone)
  • You can take it off and put on another phone easily but it will stick well on the new phone. (use new adhesive that's included)
 Luxury Plusses:
  • Use the stand function to stand up your phone. (for some of you, this will definitely be very useful)
  • Snazzy colors, Bethany Line has cool designs and more designs are coming...
  • Show off new gadget to friends (because that is always big fun)
  • You may not care but I like that this brand is involved with charitable causes. Bethany's Line will be donating 25% of proceeds to Friends of Bethany which supports survivors of shark attacks and traumatic amputation.
It folds, it stands, it holds your fingers so well!  I love clever design!

As you can see the "Useful" section is longer than the "Luxury" section but again, it is up to you to figure out the difference between "useful" and "oh man, that's awesome."  For me, I think I could possibly be the only single person to have published a whopping thirty posts of Toy Fair 2013 coverage that covered over 35 companies. (That is how much I love the readers here) Oh and the Toy Fair is full of designers and communicators (another definition of "mother" or "teacher") and so many of them were taking photos of my Flygrip so they can remember to get one for themselves.  I was a big geeky kid saying "Look at my new pocket protector, it comes with a secret pocket for holding SD cards!"

I walked miles and miles of Javits Center aisles with paper, iPad, pen, Fair directory, and bottle of water in hand and that FlyGrip was lifesaving for me. (for others, I see it as tremendously useful when traveling/sightseeing)  Moreover, I took better pictures meaning different angles without the body contortions and I had more control so I didn't have to take a ton of pictures of the same thing (to put me in a deleting-frustration-zone).   Not taking a ton of pictures lets me get my work done faster since I have to review less photos!

This is the Spiderman pose with my iPad mini!  It's not gonna fall off!

So How Is This a Family Fix-it?

Well, let me first start by saying, I am going to be buying FlyGrips in the future, for who?  Think Mother's Day, Father's Day, Mom's birthday, Boss' Day, Valentine's Day, Secretaries Day, Teacher's Day, days to shop when totally depressed, or anyone to whom you want to say, "I believe your time and work is very valuable."  And how is this a family fix-it? If you buy this for yourself, I think it's a subtle statement about you and your use of your tablet and phone. AND Who sees you using those things?  YOUR FAMILY!

Like maybe the message is.... "Hey kids and my wonderful other-half, I am not just looking at Facebook updates, I am emailing your teachers, buying gluten-free cookies in bulk, checking out sales for stuff we have to get eventually, and don't even get me started on the "work" texts and emails?  My time is precious."  (And despite my long reviews, I believe your time really is.)

So you get what I mean about feeling confident about using your phone, eh?  And uh, don't try this at home.

And now here's your chance to win your very own!  How cool is this???  Just fill out the Rafflecopter form below!
