Toy Fair 2013: Curious About Hape

WHAT:
Hape
Curious About: Quadrilla and Twiddler and so much much more....

There are seesaws inside the blocks too so that marbles can change direction!  Cool!

This is an oversize model of their alien ship.  Super cute!

Not sure what this is supposed to be but the colors are friendly.

This is not a doll-house alternative for boys.  This is an answer to the boys' need for zooming and exploring but it could be the most amazing pretend play scene for boys wouldn't it?  WOW.  Love this.

This is not out yet and I am very upset about that.  I contemplated theft but there was no way to grab all the pieces and make a run for it.  I think a lot of pieces come in the box so that you can make lots of different designs.  Watch the video and you will see why.

I love the way he is explaining this to me.  I feel so honored to have spoken with the creator of Twiddler and Quadrilla.  I think this means that Hape has to make video directions for this AMAZING toy.

Math is magical.  It really is.

This is Wilfred Braun.  He invented Quadrilla and Twiddler.  He used to build television and radio stations but decided that life would be more fulfilling if he made toys instead.  He started when his son was four and now his son is 17.  I guess Hape customers have kept him very busy.

Did you know that the power to go down the track comes from the slope within the blocks (with holes).  Quadrilla tracks are flat, not sloped.  I had no idea!!!!  I have seen these a million times and didn't know that.

Those circles on top of circles is the core of the Quadrilla design.  Each track is either part of a perimeter or is the diameter of a circle and he actually told me that he isn't really a math person. Seriously, if he is not a math person then who is?

Sorry So Sloppy Note: To bring you as many images as possible, I've decided to skip writing estimated availability dates and prices.  I'd feel awful if I made a mistake.  Feel free to leave a question in the comments box and I'll try my best to get it answered.  Also, look through the company website as well since some products are already available.  Sorry So Sloppy. Hope you understand!

Want it now on Amazon?  At the time of publication, I found some to be on Amazon.  This is not the full product line.  Just a couple of links:
