Toy Fair 2013: Curious About: Manhattan Toy

Number 2 loved the Motorworks pictures that he saw.

WHAT: Manhattan Toy
Curious About:  EDTOY, and Motorworks: EDTOY is a new magnetic wooden toy from Korea (I was born there so I am IMPARTIAL... sorry)  But there is a very interesting click technology that makes an awesome sound that is irresistable.  The parts are interchangeable.  I really want to try this one.  Motorworks is really new.  You can interchange car parts.  The parts are sturdy and scream quality quality quality.  I always feel like reverence to the material could inspire more thoughtful creations.

Imagine that every piece that could possibly be turned to make a clicking sound.  It's fun.

Obviously I made a substitution here.  I like when toys beg the question, "Why not? Who says you can't do that?"  I kind of dread when my kids ask me that question though...

These are strong magnets.  EDTOY comes in plastic too.

This is Motorworks. You can do whatever you want.

Sorry So Sloppy Note: To bring you as many images as possible, I've decided to skip writing estimated availability dates and prices.  I'd feel awful if I made a mistake.  If you are curious about something, send me a message or leave a comment here.  Also, look through the company website as well since some products are already available.  Sorry So Sloppy. Hope you understand!

  1. So are Automoblox not part of Manhattan Toys anymore? Looks like these would be a replacement?

  2. I adored Automoblox back then but I don't recall seeing any in the showroom. Either way, Motor Works looks like they have a lot more opportunities to mix and match and create new designs. FUN!

  3. I know Automoblox was at the Toy Fair, but not as part of Manhattan Toys. Interesting.
